If you could start again, what would you tell your 20-year-old self about skincare? Or Piece of skincare advice?

DRINK MORE WATER! And start taking care of your skin before you end up trying to fix it. I wish at age 16...or even 20 I focused on my skin as much as I do now! It would probably have prevented or at least delayed the ~*aging*~ concerns I have now.

    Catherine: 30-Something

    Catherine

What are your main skincare concern(s)?

Uneven skin tone and hormonal breakouts.

    Skincare/Makeup junkie or minimalist?

Skincare junkie, makeup minimalist!  Will try any mask, serum or moisturizer you give me.  Makeup routine is pared down to a tinted moisturizer, concealer, brow gel and mascara.

How did you first learn about skincare?

My mom, in my early teens. She is a pretty religious dermatologist and aesthetician visitor, so I learned early about going to the dermatologist for any and all skin concerns.  Unfortunately, it began due to teenage pimples but evolved into cleansing as the foundation, moisturizer, and SPF when I was a teen.  Once you’re out of the house, good habits fall by the wayside. After college, a friend was a beauty editor, so she had me try A LOT of skincare products in my early 20’s.  It allowed me to experiment as well as find the right combination of products to help with my concerns.

Tell us about your fav Erno Laszlo product(s)? and why!

Hands down the Firmarine Hydrogel Mask – best way to spend 20 minutes decompressing & your skin feels refreshed, hydrated, firm and smooth.  I pack these with me whenever I travel and make sure I use one when I land or the morning after a flight.  I also love the Firmarine Moisturizer SPF 30 because it has SPF.  In the summer, it's all I use and I can pare down my makeup routine even further (eliminate the tinted moisturizer and use Firmarine + concealer)

FIRM & LIFT HYDROGEL MASK (RESTORATIVE)FIRMARINE MOISTURIZER SPF 30

Tell us about your skincare routine (AM/PM)?

Mornings are usually quick, I use a facial wipe and a toner.  Then follow with a hydrating serum & Firmarine SPF 30 + my go-to makeup: concealer, brow gel, mascara and sometimes tinted moisturizer.

Evenings I take more time, double cleanse (Sensitive OR White Marble), toner, serum, eye cream, moisturizer.

sensitive double cleanse wm double cleanse

When you travel, what is the must-have skincare product you take with you?

Hydrogel masks, moisturizer, and a face mister to freshen up in flight or when I’m feeling a little tight.

Which celeb do you think has gorgeous skin?

I once passed Iman on the street in Soho.  I literally did a double take she was so beautiful.  Her skin is flawless.

    Iman

If you could start again, what would you tell your 20-year-old self about skincare? Or Piece of skincare advice?

Never, ever forget sunscreen & eye cream. Don’t start eye cream when you start to see crow’s feet, it’s will be too late if you do this!

    Mimi: 40-Something

    mimi

What are your main skincare concern(s)?

Dryness and wrinkles at my age!

    Skincare/Makeup junkie or minimalist?

I'm an Erno Laszlo junkie (love all the cleansing bars and moisturizers) and a makeup minimalist (concealer, mascara and a lip gloss or lipstick).

How did you first learn about skincare?

I was in my 20's and used Clearasil products and Stridex for acne issues if any.

Tell us about your fav Erno Laszlo product(s)? and why!

I am obsessed with the Firmarine Hydrogel Mask.  As a working mom of 2, it's a quick and effective mask that makes my face feel tight and moisturized all day! I also use the Firmarine SPF 30 Moisturizer to protect from the sun.

FIRM & LIFT HYDROGEL MASK (RESTORATIVE) FIRMARINE MOISTURIZER SPF 30

Tell us about your skincare routine (AM/PM)?

Sensitive or White Marble Cleansing Bars and Light Controlling lotion in AM, then Firmarine SPF 30 Moisturizer.

SENSITIVE CLEANSING BAR (SOOTHE & CALM) WHITE MARBLE TREATMENT BAR (WHITEN & BRIGHTEN)  LIGHT CONTROLLING LOTION

At night, Sensitive or Sea Mud Cleansing Bar. I usually use Sensitive Cleansing Bar but mix in the Sea Mud Bar if I need a deeper wash! After cleansing, I use the Firmarine Lifting Serum. Night moisturizers, I love are the Hydra-Therapy Memory Sleep Mask and the Phormula 3-9 Repair Cream.  Also, Transphuse Eye Refiner is a must!

SEA MUD DEEP CLEANSING BAR (EXFOLIATE & DETOX) FIRMARINE LIFTING SERUM HYDRA-THERAPY MEMORY SLEEP MASK  PHORMULA 3-9 REPAIR CREAM

When you travel, what is the must-have skincare product you take with you?

Any Erno Laszlo Cleansing Bar, Light Controlling Lotion, and SPF Moisturizer.

Which celeb do you think has gorgeous skin?

Jennifer Lopez. Continues to be flawless!

    jlo

If you could start again, what would you tell your 20-year-old self about skincare?

Avoid the Sun!  A piece of skincare advice?  Always remove makeup no matter how tired you are and drink lots of water!

  • SARAH KAUSS: FINDING BEAUTY IS S'WELL

    #YouOnlyYou
    April 13, 2016

Our guest this week is the lovely Sarah Kauss, founder of S’well Bottle, a company dedicated to reducing plastic on the planet through their gorgeous collection of insulated water bottles. We talk about what she’s looking forward to in NYC this spring, her daily diet and exercise regimen, and her unwavering dedication to hydration, inside and out.

    Personal questions

What are five things you love right now in New York?

Union Square Farmer’s Market - I pass it every day to and from work and it’s so nice to walk around now that it’s not bitter cold outside

The S’well Roof - We have a built out roof on our building that only S’well has access to and we’ve already started having team lunches and eating Pinkberry up there together

The Whitney Museum - It’s such a beautiful museum to get lost in on a Saturday afternoon

Central Park - As it gets warmer, I can’t help but want to spend more time there just wandering around and people watching.

Drinking Wine Outside - We’re inching closer and closer to Rosé season, but I might have put some in a S’well and started a little early

    Best advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is that it’s ok to say ‘no’. People who know me well know that I love to say ‘yes’, so I try to make ‘no’ a positive word in my day-to-day interactions.

Is there any health trend you love right now?

Though we love doughnuts in the S’well office, we’re trying to switch over to some healthy snacks. We just started doing monthly orders from Nuts.com and I am loving it. Snacking on nuts is not only delicious, but has a ton of health benefits. Raw nuts are filled with protein, fiber, unsaturated fats, and important vitamins and minerals.

Your favorite dish or something related to food?

I’m currently loving Rhythm Superfoods- dried broccoli! It was in the gift bags at this year’s TED conference and I can’t get enough of it.

How do you stay in shape?  Your favorite places/things to do to work out?

One of the benefits for S’well employees is an Equinox membership and it quickly became one of my favorite places to workout. Whether it be spending some time on the elliptical or choosing from their range of classes, I know I’m always going to break a good sweat when I go.

    Skincare questions

How do you practice beauty from the inside out?

Hydrating of course! I try to drink as much water as I can throughout the day. I don’t go anywhere without making sure my S’well is filled.

What’s your go to product if you feel your skin needs a quick pick me up?

I love Erno Laszlo’s Phormula 3-9 Repair Balm deep moisturizer. It’s very light and repairs my skin while I sleep.

What are your morning and/or evening beauty ritual?

Washing my face is one of the very first things I do in the morning using Erno Laszlo’s Phelityl Cleansing bar. It helps wake me up before I have my first cup of coffee. After a long day, I love to come home and take off the day using the Sea Mud Cleansing Bar, and if I have the time, put a face mask on. Not only is great for my skin, but it’s good quiet time for myself.

If you could tell your 20-year old self one thing as it relates skincare, what would it be?

I would tell myself that it is so important it is to find a regimen that works for you. I used to love trying all sorts of different products, but once I started investing in my skincare and using just the products that were right for my skin, I noticed a difference in the overall appearance.

  • You Say Potato, We Say Gorgeous

    #YouOnlyYou
    January 12, 2016

Today we’re talking to Danielle & Laura Kosann, sisters and co-founders of the food, fashion and lifestyle destination, The New Potato.

They give us their unique takes on their culinary preferences, how they take care of their skin both inside and out, and how Mom’s advice has never let them down. Follow The New Potato on Twitter and Instagram  @TheNewPotato.

    Personal questions

    1. What are five things you’re loving right now in New York?

LK: The weather, The Polo Bar, Central Park, the new Whitney and the fact that Spring Awakening is back!

DK: Cafe Sabarsky for breakfast and hot chocolate, long walks in Central Park, holiday windows, the Archibald Motley exhibit at The Whitney , and Bemelmans Bar for martinis on a cold night

    2. Best advice you’ve ever received?

LK: Everything in moderation - from my Mom!

DK: I feel like I've been lucky in that I've received a lot of good advice, but my Mom always says 'Just Do It' (which, I know, she borrowed from Nike) and that's probably influenced me the most in how I've lived my life.

    3. Is there any health trend you love right now?

LK: I like eating paleo on certain days I feel like I was very unhealthy in the days before. I actually feel a lot more energized when I do it even just for a day or two!

DK: I really love matcha, because it's so delicious and it has so many wonderful health benefits. I'm also very fascinated by the alkaline diet, and while I do not keep to it at all, I definitely draw from it on occasion when I feel like I need to detox for a few days.

    4. Your favorite dish or something related to food?

LK: I can't get enough of the Minetta Burger, soup dumplings at Red Farm, the Heaven on Earth smoothie at Juice Press and the Mediterranean salad at Jack's Wife Freda

DK: Currently, the grains bowl at Jack's Wife Freda is pretty much all I want to eat for lunch every single day.  The fish tacos are Seamore's are also up there!

    5. How do you stay in shape?  Your favorite places/things to do to work out?

LK: I have a dog so a lot of my "workout" is based around that. Garance Dore just told us Emmanuelle Alt once said the secret to staying thin is walking, walking, walking, and I think that's a huge part of my routine. I like to mix in some yoga, Modo Yoga downtown in the West Village is amazing.

DK: I'm terrible at keeping to a workout routine because I get bored so easily. I love to be active, but I like to switch it up. I usually go to the gym and do simple exercises that build core strength and tone. I try to walk a ton, I play tennis as often as I can, and I do Pilates and yoga when I feel like I really need a good stretch.

    Skincare questions

    1. How do you practice beauty from the inside out?

LK: I try to be balanced, so if I have an unhealthy day I just stay more conscious the next and get myself back to square one. Lots of water and coconut oil! I also like to detox with green tea, long walks and Epsom salt baths. I find also making yourself truly "catch up on sleep" can truly pivot your week. So if you had a long weekend, force yourself to get ten hours of sleep Monday night and you'll feel like a different person Tuesday.

DK: I believe strongly in everything in moderation, so I never deprive myself if I'm craving something (and I think that balance makes us happy and more beautiful!) I eat a lot of greens and drink a ton of water. I also find that a diet high in healthy fats makes me feel really good - I notice a significant difference in my skin if I haven't had much (good) fat in my diet. So I try to make sure I'm incorporating things like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado and nuts.

    2. What’s your go to product if you feel your skin needs a quick pick me up?

LK: I love Luminous Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel.

DK:  The Hydra-Therapy Memory Sleep Mask is amazing. If my skin is feeling a little dry – I apply it before bed and my skin is hydrated and refreshed the following morning.

    3. What are your morning and/or evening beauty ritual?

LK: I'm loving the Erno Laszlo products. I do the Phelityl Pre-Cleansing Oil, Sea Mud Soap and Hydraphel Skin Supplement toner and a great night cream, Firmarine Night Cream. I'm also loving the Antioxidant Complex for Eye after that. I’m also addicted to the This Works Deep Sleep Bath Oil, I don't even always use it in the bath, if I want a good night sleep I'll use it as a body moisturizer at night and it has the same effect sleep wise. The Aesop scalp and moisturizing hair mask as well as lip blooms citrus lemongrass balm, I put it on my lips and cheeks for dewiness!

DK: Although, I don't always wash my face in the morning, but if I do I use the Sea Mud Soap which I love. I use coconut oil for my body, as it helps with dry skin more than any moisturizer I've tried. In the evening, I’ll use the Phelityl Pre-Cleansing Oil and then the Sea Mud Soap.

    4. If you could tell your 20-year old self one thing as it relates skincare, what would it be?

LK: Listen to your Mother and keep staying out of the sun!

DK: Eye cream! I wish I'd started using it earlier.

  • BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT

    #YouOnlyYou
    November 12, 2015

Lilliana Vazquez is a multi-media journalist, blogger and Emmy-winning TV host who just released her first book. We talked to her about her favorite new way to cook, her Sunday night mask ritual, and her beloved 20-minute nightly cleansing regimen.

Follow her on Twitter @theLVguide or Instagram @lillianavazquez.

What are you favorite places to travel to?

I love the Baja Peninsula. There's a tiny town there called Todos Santos and it's home to some of the most beautiful coastline in all of Mexico.

What is one thing you can’t live without when you travel?

Aviator Nation sweatpants - sometimes I'm gone half the month and they're like having the comfort of home with me no matter where I am.

What are five things you’re loving right now in New York?

The Whitney, fall temperatures, Babu Ji (insanely amazing Indian food), Hamilton on Broadway and shopping for new fall clothes!

    Best advice you’ve ever received?

    Work smarter, not harder!

Is there any health trend you love right now?

It's not a trend, but I'm really into cooking at home. I used to eat out most nights for dinner but now that I've discovered Blue Apron, I love cooking dinner for my husband and I. It's much healthier because I control what goes into the dish and it's always better than delivery!

How do you practice beauty from the inside out?

I like to be super knowledgeable about what's going into my body so while that may mean skipping a lot of my favorite foods/treats, the sacrifice is totally worth it. Nourishing my body from the inside out makes the biggest difference in how I feel and in turn how I look.

What’s your go to product if you feel your skin needs a quick pick me up?

When you work in TV, your skin often pays the price. I put on a full face of makeup everyday, so I like to treat my skin to a Sunday night deep cleansing mask. Erno Laszlo's Anti-Blemish Beta Purifying Mask always leaves my skin refreshed, cleansed and ready to take on the make-up room!

What are your morning and/or evening beauty rituals?

I have a 5:30am wake-up call so I try to keep my morning routine to a minimum - cleanser and moisturizer only - but my evening ritual is the opposite. I take this time to indulge my skin and treat it with a customized routine that tackles my skin issues while repairing any damage. My routine at night can take up to 20 minutes, but I enjoy every second. My bathroom feels like a mini-spa!

If you could tell your 20-year old self one thing as it relates skincare, what would it be?

Sunscreen isn't something you only wear in the sun, it's something you need to wear everyday so incorporate it into your routine

  • BEAUTIFUL BY DESIGN

    #YouOnlyYou
    November 02, 2015

Our guest this week is none other than fashion designer and philanthropist Nicole Miller. Speaking with her, it’s clear that her incredible success can be chalked up to a life-long passion for design, a big heart and an unstoppable devotion to giving back. When not designing, Nicole is an avid skier, wake-boarder, traveler, and foodie.

Follow her on Twitter @NicoleMillerNYC or visit her online store at www.nicolemiller.com.

What is the skincare product that you cannot live without?

Moisturizer! Especially as the weather gets colder, my skin needs hydration both day and night. I like using the Erno Laszlo Firmarine Moisturizer SPF 30 during the day – the formula has SPF, so I don’t have to apply a separate sunscreen.

How does your beauty routine change when you travel?

My beauty routine pretty much remains the same when I travel, but if I’m going somewhere bright and sunny, I make sure to bring a mineral sunblock powder wand with me.

What’s your biggest skin concern and how do you treat it?

My biggest concerns are fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes and dry, chapped lips. The Transphuse Eye Refiner has a really smooth texture and I love that it can be used both day and night.

If you could tell your 20-year old self one thing as it relates skincare, what would it be?

Sunscreen – always apply sunscreen to your face and especially your nose. Using makeup or skincare with SPF is such an easy way to ensure you’re always protected. Never wear a sunburn!

What do you do to get ready in the morning?

I like to keep it simple – cleanser, serum and moisturizer. The Firmarine Treatment Bar is really luxurious, I like that it helps firm my skin throughout the day.

Who is the most inspirational person you have met in your career?

Paris-born fashion designer, Pauline Trigere – she was so elegant and chic. We used to have lunch frequently and she always told me great stories about her incredible career.

What are your go-to places in NYC to shop and eat?

I love Indochine, Nobu, Da Silvano, and Waverly Inn.  I like the creperie in Le District and the new Gourmet Garage in Tribeca.

What is always in your bag?

I keep the basics in my bag – phone charger, lipstick, Celtic salt, and Altoids.

  • BEAUTY WITH AN EDGE

    #YouOnlyYou
    October 19, 2015

As co-founder of Stone Fox Bride, Molly Guy is a bridal style expert with some edge! A non-conformist when it comes to fashion, Molly tells us how she keeps things simple with her skincare, what she loves about New York and how a conversation with Diane von Furstenburg changed her life.

Follow Stone Fox Bride on Instagram @StoneFoxBride.

What is the skincare product that you cannot live without?

Coconut oil. I use it on my face after cleansing, my body after the bath and to massage both my children's arms, legs and scalp every night before bed.

How does your beauty routine change when you travel?

When I travel, I keep things really simple: a bar of coconut soap, some rose face mist, a little shea butter or avocado oil and moisturizer. Stila liquid blush and peppermint essential oil on my wrists and bellybutton. That's it!

What’s your biggest skin concern and how do you treat it?

When the weather gets cold, my skin becomes  a disaster! Super dry with bad breakouts. It sucks. Add the hormones of pregnancy on top of it all and it's pretty unmanageable — this past winter, when I was pregnant with my second, I had the skin of a pimply seventh grader. YUCK.

If you could tell your 20-year old self one thing as it relates skincare, what would it be?

Stop with the tanning — it's a quick fix! Being pale is pretty. But the White Marble Treatment Bar can help brighten skin, even after years in the sun.

What do you do to get ready in the morning?

I have two young kids so my morning routine is pretty touch and go. I shower at night, so in the morning I'm all about a little toner, like Hydraphel Skin Supplement, and moisturizer – Firmarine Moisturizer SPF 30 is great because it has sunscreen…then I’m good to go. Rose essential oil and a side braid is a must.

Who is the most inspirational person you have met in your career?

I had a profound conversation with Diane Von Furstenberg in 2003 when I interviewed her for a beauty story. I was an editor at Nylon magazine.  I remember that she was wearing brown corduroys with a brown t-shirt, no makeup, and she was absolutely, drop dead stunning. Like beyond.  We sat in her brownstone over a bowl of red apples and she told me that I had to change my life. Right afterwards, I did.

What are your go-to places in NYC to shop and eat?

Cafe Gitane for watermelon juice and avocado toast, Gemma for iced Americanos and artichoke salads, Oroboro in Williamsburg for beauty products and textiles, Paula Weber's closet for vintage, the flower market on 28th street for roses, the Greenpoint Farmers Market for produce. Bedford Cheese Shop for olives, pickles and licorice. I always pop into Isabel Marant in SoHo for eye candys' sake when I'm in the neighborhood. ABC Carpet and Home is heaven, too.

What is always in your bag?

I'm afraid this is not a very glamorous answer, but here we go: as a working mom, I always have string cheese and almonds for my toddler, a pacifier for the baby, SW basics lip balm, lavender essential oil, a moleskin, a phone and some part of the Sunday Times that I never get around to reading. Also Stila liquid blush!

  • A BESPOKE BEAUTY WITH GREAT STYLE

    #YouOnlyYou
    October 05, 2015

This week, we catch up with the unstoppable Rachel Fleit. This Brooklyn based filmmaker, co-founder and former chief creative officer of HONOR NYC shares the story of her bespoke beauty ritual, her devotion to the iconic Sea Mud Deep Cleansing bar and how she stays in such fantastic shape. We also got the inside scoop on her cool vintage style and where she loves to shop.

Follow her on Instagram @RachelFleit #YouOnlyYou

What do you do to get ready in the morning?

My morning routine is almost the same every day, I meditate daily (except when I don't) and I take class at Physique 57, 6 days a week (on the 7th day I eat pancakes). My skin regimen is as follows: I use the Cleanse Phelityl Pre-Cleansing Oil, after that I use the Sea Mud Cleansing Bar, follow with a toner, the Phormula 3-9 Repair Serum and then the Firmarine Moisturizer SPF 30.

What is the skincare product that you cannot live without?

The Firmarine Moisturizer SPF 30! I am a sun worshipper and the SPF 30 is my only hope! Plus it smells SO GOOD.

Who is the most inspirational person you have met in your career?

I think Barbara Flood--stylist, vintage collector and former actress/model inspires me the most out of anyone. Her personal style, her daily routine, her view on life and love-- she is simply the greatest. She has become an important part of my chosen family in New York.

How does your beauty routine change when you travel?

My routine doesn't really change except for tinier bottles! I hate to check baggage unless it's absolutely necessary, that's why I live for the Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar, it can always go in my carry on!

What are your go-to places in New York to shop and eat?

I don't actually like to shop in New York. I much prefer to buy my wares out of the city when I am travelling-- I mostly wear vintage clothing and the best place to buy vintage is not here. I do have my favorite standby's, Gea's Garden Jewels is one of my favorite stores for plants and dream catchers and other magical items. I also absolutely adore Love Adorned in Nolita for gifts and just to look around, it’s perfectly merchandised.  As for Eating, I am serious about that! I love Geido in my neighborhood for sushi, it has a really-great-won't-break-the-bank- Omakase and the best vibe. As for other favorite spots, Il Buco Alimentari e Vineria is one of my favorite places to really have a feast-- I often think of the pasta cacio pepe and the short ribs!  I also love Angelica Kitchen for healthy hippie food, Morgensterns or Chinatown Ice Cream Factory for ice cream, Petee's Pie Company for Pie, Russ and Daughters for Smoked Fish and all the delights, Nom Wah Tea Parlor for dim sum and Cafe Mogador because it's just so classic New York to me and makes me feel like I'm home. I could go on and on and on, I have secret spots that I refuse to divulge for fear of having to wait in a line one day. I love to eat in New York City, it's one of my favorite things to do.

If you could tell your 20-year old self one thing as it relates skincare, what would it be?

Stop smoking! Put on the sunscreen! But my 20 year-old self would definitely roll her eyes and give me the finger.

What’s your biggest skin concern and how do you treat it?

My biggest skin concern is the area around my eyes. I used to smoke and I spend a lot of time in the sun, so I need to be mindful of the fine lines, I make sure to moisturize my eye area morning and night.

What is always in your bag?

Besides the keys/wallet/phone trio, I always have my Reebok Barre Slippers, and workout clothes. I am addicted to Physique 57 and take class nearly every day. I think it's the only thing that works and is one of the reasons I am so happy and strong. Seriously. I also always carry Lavender scented Raw Virgin Coconut Oil by Amara Essentials, Heat Wave lipstick from NARS, A bottle of water and a snack of some kind, I am at my best when fed!

  • REDISCOVERING A RITUAL

    #YouOnlyYou
    September 16, 2015

Our first featured influencer shares her early discovery of the importance of a daily cleansing ritual (using Erno Laszlo, no less!), her plan of action against those fickle freckles, and a few of her favorite New York haunts. As Beauty Director for Town and Country since 2010, Jamie oversees all beauty, health and wellness content for the magazine and online.

Keep up with her New York adventures @JamieRosenNYC

How did you first learn about Erno Laszlo?

My best friend was/is an Erno Laszlo devotee, and her mom sent her to college with a full ritual. She used to fill up the dorm room sink, at 18 years old, and wash her face with the black soap.  It was my introduction to the idea that a beauty brand does not just make products, but creates rituals around caring for yourself in a very proactive way. And I must say that she and her mom both have gorgeous skin, to this day.

How does your beauty routine change when you travel?
If it’s for pleasure, it’s much simpler. But I find work travel a great time to test products because I can focus just on what’s in my bag, not the overwhelming amount of things in my apartment.

What’s your biggest skin concern and how do you treat it?
It changes depending on the day! Now with the end of summer, I do have some pigmentation, which is unavoidable if you spend time outside. I tried IPL earlier this year, and I loved it, but it is not a permanent fix, since the freckles and color came back within months. As dermatologists often say, when it comes to treating pigmentation, it’s one step forward, two steps back, unless you’re up for a hazmat suit!

If you could tell your 20-year old self one thing as it relates skincare, what would it be?
Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. Every single day. I am a broken record on this one, but it’s so important.

What do you do to get ready in the morning?
I try and do a whole skin care routine in the morning, which doesn’t leave much time for hair (left to air dry, or revived with dry shampoo) or makeup (but at the very least there is concealer).

Who is the most inspirational person you have met in your career?
I am always inspired by the entrepreneurs I meet who really pursue what they are passionate about. It is one thing to have an idea, it is another thing entirely to actually make it happen.

What are your go-to places in New York to shop and eat?
I love to go to Locanda Verde, Little Park, Dimes, and ABC Kitchen — those are my happy places, food wise. And does Snowdays creamy shaved ice count? That, too. For shopping, I am a Zara and Cos devotee, and I love Albertine, Kisan, and Barneys, as well.

What is always in your bag?
I hoard lip balm and concealer, and I always like to have something with a little color that can be used on lips and cheeks to wake things up a bit, like Dr. Perricone No Lipgloss Lipgloss or the Olio e Osso tints.
