I used to use Erno Laszlo products in the 1980's. I just decided to try Laszlo again. Ordered what I used to use: Sea Mud Soap and Detoxifying Cleansing Oil. I have dry skin. This combo has made my skin look smoother, cleaner and just "unbelievable!" My skin never looked this good with other products. Maybe I will eventually turn back time to my 20's!! :)
"My face needed a cleanser like this! I loved the pink bottle it came in, it smells great and was very easy to apply. I use it at the end of the day to get all the make-up, dirt and grime off my face. My face is now smooth and hydrated!"
"I use the mask 2x a week and I feel like my entire face has been exfoliated, detoxed and tightened. It's healthier looking and feels smooth. I love the natural benefits of clay. My skin has been feeling like a dried out raisin the pore cleansing clay mask is a great remedy for distressed skin."
Whether you’re a lifelong New Yorker or have adopted the city as your home, winter in the city can truly be a wonderland. From glistening snow dusting the tops of trees to the cozy feeling of escaping the cold with a warm cup of hot chocolate from Serendipity, New York is just as alive during the winter as any other time of year. We’re sharing some of our favorite classic winter activities in the city that actually never sleeps.
Skating & Sledding
Cabin fever is all too real, but you can fight it by heading outside to have the kind of fun you had as a kid. That’s right: it’s time to go sledding and skating – perfect for friend dates and romantic dates alike. Bryant Park is a great place to skate for free, especially during the week when it’s less crowded. If you want to avoid the winter crowds, head to the rink at Prospect Park. If you want to check out a newer spo
This year, our holiday campaign Laszlo For All was inspired by brand self-reflection and discovery. We launched our new website this past summer, redefining our take on beauty and how we fit into the dynamic, every changing landscape. We have a beautiful 92-year-old heritage, the legacy of a doctor whose goal was to make women look and feel beautiful from day one and products that deliver on their promise. But wow, how things have changed since our launch in 1929.
Three years ago, we started asking ourselves a few big questions. What’s next? How do we fit into the skincare conversation? What do our customers expect from us? We met and listened to all kinds of customers living across the globe with different skin, ethnicities, age groups and life choices. We enjoyed hearing all their stories so much we created our entire Real Skin, Real Stories campaign around them.
From the cookies to the champagne to the dreaded circles that tend to accompany staying up all night with friends you haven’t seen in months or even years, the holidays can be as stressful on your skin as to your mental health. Luckily, neither has to suffer. Keep reading for our tips on how to fight the unwanted effects that holiday fun can have on your skin.
Watch the sugar.
If you have a sweet tooth, the holidays can be tricky. Whether it’s your aunt’s famous pumpkin pie or your coworker’s baking hobby filling the office kitchen, it can be difficult to resist. The thing is, sugar is one of the worst sources of inflammation in the body, which can have unwanted effects on your skin. There’s a difference, however, between added sugars, such as those in most baked goods, and sugars naturally found in
Alongside the warm, fuzzy feeling of finding the perfect gifts and admiring the extravagant light displays during the holidays can come the potential stress of spending time with extended family. As wonderful as it is to see people from the far-flung branches of your family tree, it can also kick your neuroses into high gear. Will Aunt Linda grill you on why you’re not married yet? Is your youngest nephew’s terrible-twos phase still going strong? Of course you love your family, but you gotta love yourself, too. Take some tips from our guide to surviving time spent with your extended family and practice social self-care this holiday season.
Indulge your skin as preparation.
A sense of confidence can empower you to get through the night. In the spirit of inspiring self-confidence, take extra care with your skin as you get ready to head out. Start you

When we met Julie and discovered Project Beauty Share, we immediately knew that we wanted to get involved. We also knew that our customers would feel the same. Project Beauty Share collects beauty and personal hygiene products and distributes them through non-profit organizations who serve women and families overcoming abuse, addiction, homelessness, and poverty. Their mission, our brand and customers couldn’t be more aligned. Our Laszlo for All holiday campaign was inspired by this movement and organization.
To join us and participate, clean out your shelves, closets, and bags – donate the softly used or unused beauty products, and spread the word while you’re at it. Mail your products to Project Beauty Share, share your offering on Instagram with the tag #haulidaydonation, and l
Autumn is officially here and we are ready to curl up with a book we can’t put down, binge our favorite podcasts, and check out some of the most intriguing new films and TV shows coming out this fall. From the things that we’re looking forward to the most to the favorites we can’t stop listening to, check out what we’re obsessed with this season, as selected by our digital team: Ecommerce Manager Chelsea Olchowy, Social Media Manager Stephanie Rosen, and Social Media and Influencer Coordinator Adriana Autie..
Chelsea’s Pick: My Favorite Murder – Out now
Ecommerce Manager Chelsea Olchowy could write a dissertation on her love of My Favorite Murder, which may not be new but is a perfect podcast for
This month’s Glowdown spotlights Lindsey Metselaar, founder of the podcast We Met At Acme. The arrival of autumn has put cuffing season on our minds, so we had to know more about what inspired Lindsey to launch a podcast about millennial dating in NYC. As a native New Yorker and CEO of her own social media management company (Lindsey's Lunchbox), we were thrilled to pick Lindsey’s brain about her career motivations, dating advice, and more!
What inspired you to create We Met At Acme?
I created We Met At Acme because I was newly single and in a position where I needed some dating gui
The leaves are changing colors. Skeletons and pumpkins are taking over store shelves and front porches. Sweaters and scarves are blissfully back in action. Family get-togethers are on the horizon. There’s only one thing left: a partner to enjoy (and get through) it all with. Cuffing season is officially upon us.
If you don’t know what cuffing season is, you’ve either been in a relationship for the past ten years or aren’t into the dating scene. For anyone who hasn’t heard the term, it refers to the time of year starting around October and ending around March when single people start yearning for that certain someone to hang out with during the cold winter months, a plus-one for all the inevitable seasonal festivities as well as someone to rewatch The Office with for the billionth time. “Cuffing season” first appeared in Urban Dictionary in 2011, and by now it’s become a full-fledged wintertime dating phenomen
The holidays will soon be upon us and with all the socializing on the horizon, we’ve got makeup on the mind. Luckily, internationally published makeup artist Kornelija Slunjski – better known as @kokobeaute – is here to chat with us about all things cosmetics – and, of course, skincare too!
Have you always been interested in makeup?
Yes, ever since I can remember. As many little girls (or boys) I was always by my mom doing her makeup and was secretly using all of her products. I remember how intimidating a lash curler looked. I was also always flicking through magazines, seeing all the beautiful models and celebrities thinking, “I want to make them look this good.”
What inspires you to try new makeup looks?
Here’s a secret about us: we’re kind of obsessed with astrology. (Who isn’t, though?) Then again, it might not be much of a secret, considering our Summer Skincare Horoscopes and Chinese Zodiac Horoscopes. Now we’re turning the astro-spotlight specifically on our best-sellers – turns out, there’s an Erno Laszlo must-have that perfectly corresponds with each sign of the zodiac. Which one are you?
An intense sign deserves a powerful product. With innovative detoxing abilities from charcoal that draws out impurities while refining skin, an AHA Fruit Blend that remove
Whether you’re young or old, two decades into your career or diving in headfirst, life is going so well – until all of a sudden, it’s just not. You spend all day working super hard, dip out for a quick dinner, and then head home and continue the hustle, whether it’s a side project or more work from your day job. Maybe there’s something amazing going on that your friends insist you have to check out, except that this keeps happening every single night. (At least, that’s how it feels.) Then comes a day when you realize how incredibly tired you are all the time. You keep working, but it’s lost the meaning. You’re always on edge, feeling cynical toward everything, and wondering why you even bother. What is going on?
What is burnout?
If you’re feeling this way, know that you are so not alone. One Gallup poll that surveyed 7,500 full-time employees found that 23% of them feel burned out often or always, while 44% feel burned out sometimes. That’s so close t
When summer starts to wind down, there are a few things that make the impending cold days a little more tolerable: treating our taste buds with pumpkin spice, getting our lives in order for Virgo Season, and, of course, feasting our eyes on New York Fashion Week. Take a little trip back through time with us as we trace the contours of this celebrated event in anticipation of the artful trends sure to be on display this year.
Fashion has been an integral part of modern culture since Parisian marketers hired women to wear high-end couture items out in public, but the concept of an organized fashion week was in fact an American invention. In 1943, New York Fashion Week was created by Eleanor Lambert, press director of the New York Dress Institute, the first promotional arm of the American fashion industry.

In this edition of the Glowdown, we’re talking shop with Dria Murphy, founder of the creative brand building agency Alise Collective. From how she manages the all-important work/life balance when her life basically is her work to the career knowledge she gained from her internships with high-end fashion houses, Dria let us in on what makes her tick – and then some!
Why did you start Alise Collective? Tell us a little bit about your journey to launching your own company.
I founded Alise Collective four years ago. I was working in the start-up space and had to experience, as many do, a disappointment when the business didn’t succeed. Creating Alise Collective happened organically - I looked to my incredible mentors around me and really dug deep to figure out what I wanted to do. From there, I began to take on products, people, brands, and places that I truly believe in and would personally use.
Your eyes are not deceiving you – our new Multi-Task Eye Gel Cream has arrived! We’re excited to expand our eye care offerings and share more about our new eye gel cream, conveniently (and gorgeously) housed in a slim rose gold pen. From how it’s formulated to how you should use it, we’re putting the spotlight on our latest piece of #EyeCandy!
What Is It?
Our Multi-Task Eye Gel Cream is a revolutionary pressed serum that dramatically diminishes the appearance of dark undereye circles, bags, puffiness, and fine lines. The result is a totally refreshed, revitalized appearance – no one will suspect that you spent all night hustling on your next project, scrolling through Instagram, or staring at the ceiling because you just couldn’t fall asleep.
The curved tip of the hygenic applicator is precise, comfortable, and simple to use, producing an effect similar to gently massaging t
The importance of pH-balanced skin is in our very DNA as a brand. One of our namesake’s earliest discoveries revolves around it: Dr. Erno Laszlo actually created the entire Phelityl range using his knowledge of how to properly balance the skin’s pH. But maybe you only remember pH from high school chemistry, which would be totally fair. Educate yourself with our guide on pH-balanced skin and why it should matter to you!
How do you read the pH scale?
The pH – short for potential hydrogen – scale goes from 0-14 and reflects the acidity of a substance: below 7 is acidic, above 7 is alkaline, and right on 7 is neutral. Water is neutral, whereas vinegar has a pH of 2 to 3 and ammonia lands at 12.
What is skin’s natural pH?
You might be surprised to learn that skin is actually on the acidic side, with a natural pH of 5.5. It’s not surprising, however, that skin requires a very specific environment to function at its best – not
Whether you stayed up all night working on your latest side hustle, went out with the group of friends who are always down for last call, or simply couldn’t fall asleep after scrolling through Instagram for hours, your eyes are showing it now. Luckily, all is not lost, because we’re sharing our favorite tips and tricks to say goodbye to dreaded dark circles and puffy eye bags. From our favorite eye creams to the best eye hacks, all eyes are on… well, our eyes!
Classic Beauty Hacks
First things first, the classic tricks you’ve heard do work: cold spoons, cucumbers, and frozen tea bags placed on your eyes can help make them look less puffy. The reasons they work? Because they cool the skin and constrict blood vessels. Another take on the tea bag trick is to actually make some green tea and freeze it in ice cube trays making green tea cubes. In the morning, wrap the tea cube in a paper towel and dab over your eye area to perk it up with the tea
Does anything embody the concept of self-care more than the comfort of a Sunday afternoon? We think not, much like Ashli Stockton, who founded Sunday Forever around the idea. A lifestyle brand that cultivates and creates one-of-a-kind candles, kimonos, and much more. Sunday Forever's Ashli bottled that feeling and built her own dream world in the process. We had to know more about what inspires her work and how she cultivates her own Sunday Forever feeling!
Tell us about your creative process. What is a day in your shoes like?
To really get in my groove I need to spend time alone and let my mind wander. Running a business can be super hectic so those “alone” moments have become fewer and far between but I make a point to set that time aside.
What does emotionally identifying with the products you use, mean for you?
Trust and intent mean everything to me both as a consumer and fou

Our latest Glowdown features Vanessa Packer, founder of boutique fitness studio modelFIT. Focused on mindful exercise based on functional movement science, modelFIT is centered on the belief that slow and controlled movement builds long and lean muscles.
