How To

7 Efficient Ways to Organize Your Bathroom if You're a Skincare Enthusiast

Toner here, a cleansing bar there, and face masks everywhere: in the sea of skincare products on the beauty scene, we wouldn’t blame you if your bathroom has become a bit overwhelming. An organized bathroom won’t just look better, but it’ll help you streamline your skincare routine, too. As much as we love color-coordinated shelfies – and trust us, we do! – they might not be the most practical method, although definitely the prettiest.

If you can work in these efficient ways to organize your bathroom while maintaining color coordination for the perfect shelfie, you’ve hit the jackpot. Either way, try these out and you’ll never look back!

1. Keep daily-use products on the bottom shelf.

Let’s start with the most important shelf: the bottom shelf. Here is where you should keep the products that you use the most in your everyday skincare routine, such as moisturizers like the Firarmine Moisturizer SPF 30 and cleansers like the Pore Refining Detox Double Cleanse. Keep it even more practical by organizing the items on this shelf from left to right in order of use.

2. Keep your weekly-use products on the middle shelf.

Here is where you want to place the products that you use weekly but not daily. The middle shelf is a great place to keep multi-system treatments like our White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel and face masks like our Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask and Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Treatment.

3. Keep least frequently used products on the top shelf.

It’s true that you’re probably using most of your skincare products at least weekly, so the top shelf is a good place to store duplicates or products that are only meant to be used once or twice a year, such as our 28-day Transphuse Rapid Renewal Cell Protocol.

4. Keep your cleansing bar within reach.

A well-stocked routine should always include an Erno Laszlo cleansing bar. Whether you have ample counter space or a pedestal sink, twice daily cleansing is a must. Our favorite is the iconic Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar, which comes with a conveniently cute holder to store the bar when not in use. If you’re not using Dead Sea mud to protect your skin, you’re missing out on 26 minerals that actually help restore your skin’s own mineral levels.

5. Organize products by type.

Another highly effective way to organize your bathroom if you’re a skincare enthusiast is to organize by type. Keep your cleansers, moisturizers, toners, and serums each in their respective places. Powder and hydrogel masks can be easily stacked atop one another or side by side, perfect if you’re low on space but love to stock up on your favorite masks.

6. Keep all your skincare products in one central location.

If you don’t have a medicine cabinet, there are plenty of ways to improvise storage that helps keep your skincare organized. A two-tiered wire basket stored on the counter, floating shelves if you can add them to the wall, a rolling cart, and wall-mounted baskets are all fairly simple ways to embellish bathroom storage. Another option is acrylic containers, which we love because they let you show off the swoon-worthy packaging.

7. Get rid of expired skincare products.

Last, but certainly not least, expired products have no home amongst your skincare collection. Not only do they take up precious space, but they could damage your skin and they don’t perform like new skincare products do. It might be hard to get rid of something that you swore you were going to add to your routine, but it’s been three years and you haven’t. It’s time to let go.

Pro tip: check the package to see how long an item is supposed to last. See a little jar with a number 12 and letter M inside it? That means 12 months!
