Edible Ingredients (and What They Do For Your Skin)

We might be suckers for food-themed anything (Yes, we spent a lot of time on pizza shaped pool floaties this summer.) but when it comes to the ingredients in your skincare routine, fruit and veggie packed products really are better! If you haven’t experienced the results of the following products just yet, we can paint you a picture of just how effective (and luxurious) they are thanks to some delicious ingredients.

Orange

What’s it in? White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C-Peel

Your mom was right, having an adequate Vitamin C intake in your diet is super important, and we can’t stress enough how great it is for your face either! Vitamin C is proven to even out skin tone, hydrate, protect against pollution, and brighten up your complexion. It’s a miracle ingredient, really, and it’s one of the reasons why we fell so hard for our Dual Phase Vitamin-C Peel.

The 2-step exfoliator gently removes dead skin as you apply step one (the Vitamin-C packed ingredient) and lactic acid exfoliates as step two. The formula reduces dark spots while brightening and evening out skin tone. (Did you know Vitamin C also boosts collagen production? We weren’t exaggerating when we told you it was a miracle.)

Pomegranate

What’s it in? Hydra-Therapy Foaming Cleanse

They may be labor intensive to eat, but skincare products containing pomegranate are a huge win for a number of reasons. Taking a step back to our last discussion, one pomegranate contains about 50% of your recommended daily intake of vitamin c. Pomegranate seed oil stimulates the cells at the skin’s surface, promoting regeneration and reducing acne scars, skin damage, and dark spots.

Our Hydra-Therapy Foaming Cleanse contains a blend of Rice and Pomegranate that restores and protects skin by defying free radicals and supplying intense hydration. (Did we mention pomegranate also contains fatty acids?) It’s collagen boosting powers will also leave your skin lush and glowing.

Prickly Pear

What’s it in? Hydra-Therapy Memory Sleep Mask

Our Hydra-Therapy Memory Sleep Mask is one of our favorite ways to treat ourselves (though realistically we use it...a lot). The formula contains Prickly Pear which is an incredible hydrator for its ability to attract water in challenging environments. The result? Taking your skin from dry and parched to incredibly hydrated after applying just a thin layer.

Olive Oil

What’s it in? Hydraphel Intensive Night Cream

Olive oil isn’t just one of our kitchen essentials these days. It’s a skin-softening ingredient that makes our Hydraphel Intensive Night Cream extremely luxurious and hydrating. Not only does olive oil work wonders as a moisturizer, it also contains rare free-radical fighting properties that shield your skin from external stressors. Olive oil also has antibacterial properties and is packed with vitamins, including vitamin E which has been a historically time-tested treatment for eczema.

Cucumber

What’s it in? Multi Phase Eye Make-up Remover

Your first rodeo with skincare probably involved placing cucumber slices over your eyes. While a lot has probably changed since then (your skincare routine at least), using cucumbers as a de-puffing agent still holds true. The flavonoids and antioxidants decrease swelling, redness, and irritation. Cucumbers are also packed with vitamin c and caffeic acid which help fight wrinkles and sun damage.

Grapeseed Oil

What’s it in? Detoxifying Cleansing Oil

Grape seed oil is extracted from grape seeds after they’ve been used to make wine (yet another reason to love grapes). Unlike other types of oil like coconut, grape seed oil is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog your pores and is appropriate for sensitive skin types. It contains Vitamin E, which lightens dark circles and is rich in energizing minerals - tackling toxins while boosting circulation and cell renewal!
