How To

Your Next Holiday Party Look In 10 Items (Or Less!)

If your Google Calendar looks anything like ours, your social agenda is overflowing with dinners, parties, and invites of the holiday variety. Our theme for this season’s holiday look? Glow and glitter without giving off aggressive disco ball vibes. Unless your party happens to be ‘70s-themed and, if so, we say 1) go for it and 2) can we come?

We sat down with our glam guru of the office, Gina, to get all her expert advice on holiday party circuit essentials, which we’ve detailed out below. Watch our Facebook Live with her here if you want to get the full 411 (including what her favorite Two Faced Better Than Sex Mascara dupe is).

Antioxidant Complex For Eyes: This will wake your eyes right up with a refreshing, cooling sensation (Pro Tip: Store in your refrigerator!) and is lightweight enough to layer your concealer or foundation on after without feeling cakey.

Timeless Skin Serum: Consider this your primer for your skincare products. It restores tone, texture, elasticity and precious moisture to set the scene for all of your holiday glam.

Elysian Delorean Age Suspending Treatment: And if you’re going to be hitting the dance floor, you’ll need some extra staying power for your makeup. This primer also boasts an anti-aging complex additive that plumps skin in addition to your run-of-the-mill primer duties.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: We love this option for coverage that won’t suffocate your skin. It evens out tone and brings your natural skin to life.

Stila Magnificent Metals Liquid Eyeshadow: This eyeshadow brings the glitz and glitter that the holidays call for without going overboard. Gina suggests applying it with an eyeshadow brush and patting it on your eyelid for a bit more of a controlled application.

Hourglass 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eye Liner: We don’t know what to talk about first: the miniscule, precise application or the long-lasting wear. Both are worthy of our praise. Seriously, if you apply this eyeliner and then let it sit for 60 seconds, you won’t see it smudge or budge all evening long.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter: Gina loves this highlighter for its creamy consistency because a powder formula can often dry out skin, especially in the winter. This cream highlighter is easy to control and provides a subtle shimmer that won’t leave your coworkers blinded.

NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment: And is it really a holiday party look without a red lip? Not only will you forget that you applied this lipstick because it’s that lightweight, but you can set it and forget it. It will last through however many rounds of champagne you imbibe without any fading or disappearance acts.

Multiphase Makeup Remover: No one likes waking up to a makeup-stained pillowcase, so don’t forget this step even if it seems like your bed is audibly calling your name. (How many glasses of champagne did we have?) We love how easy even the liquid lipstick came off with our Multiphase Makeup Remover. WIth ingredients like aloe extract, it’s super soothing and won’t strip your skin of its natural oils.

Hydra-Therapy Memory Sleep Mask: Lastly, before you lay your head to slumber, apply our Memory Sleep Mask to repair all the damage done from the evening’s debauchery. Wake up looking and feeling like Sleeping Beauty. Your colleagues will be astonished and asking you for your secret.
