The 3-Step Post-Workout Skincare Routine

If you’re one of the brave souls that hits the gym shortly after hitting your alarm ‘off’ button, we truly commend you. While we’re not all morning people to this degree, if you’ve ever wondered how to treat your skin post-midday shower, or taken a weekend yoga class and considered the right way to treat your skin after then this article is for you, too!


Maintaining complexion perfection at the gym starts with your approach on the floor. Make sure your hair is tied up and your hands stay off your face. Keeping your face hands-free is an integral part of maintaining great skin, aside from when working your skincare routine magic, of course. It’s also a million times better if you hit the gym sans makeup and bare face, so skip the foundation. 


Step 1: Cleanse

Following exercise, it’s important to use a gentle cleanser to wash the sweat and dead skin away. Stay away from harsh products that can dry out skin, which will already be thirsting for extra hydration after your workout.

Step 2: Serum

Step two involves hitting your skin with a dose of hydration after sweating it out on the treadmill. Depending on your skin type, our Hydra-Therapy Boost Serum can be used as a lightweight post-workout moisturizer that will give you plenty of hydration for the day ahead. If your skin is on the dry side, we suggest applying the Boost Serum before layering on a heavier-duty moisturizer.

Step 3: SPF

The final step in your post-gym routine is applying a solid layer of SPF to lock in your serum and protect you from UVA and UVB rays. If your hydration step ends with your serum, finish with a Cushion Compact that contains SPF 15 or higher.
