If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Animated, creative, visually-driven.

When were you first introduced to Erno Laszlo and how?

I was first introduced to Erno Laszlo when I worked at the flagship Saks 5th Avenue at MAC Cosmetics briefly for a season. Their booth was right across from MAC and I still remember the sales associate gushing about how it was an iconic brand. I was intrigued ever since.

What does Erno Laszlo mean to you?

Erno Laszlo to me means self-care, effective products, luxe and iconic.

Favorite Erno Laszlo product?

I really love the hydrogel masks for any event as it really plumps my skin and preps it for makeup.

Tell us about your relationship with skincare. Where did it start? How has it evolved?

I’m a professional makeup artist and the two go hand in hand. You’d be surprised at how many people I’ve done makeup on who didn’t even realize they needed to exfoliate. You can’t get your makeup looking perfect without a good canvas. Skincare is the first step in that.

Best beauty advice your Mom/Grandma/Aunt, etc. shared with you?

I’m actually the one always giving them advice! My mom was always too busy working to worry about herself. Now that she’s older, she loves every time I come home to visit because we binge out on my skincare stash together. So, it’s a nice bonding moment.

What is your skincare/beauty guilty pleasure/confession? (We won't judge!)

I’m almost too embarrassed to say, but I love extracting blackheads. (No judging!)

Walk us through your typical morning and evening skincare routine. How and why does it differ on a daily basis?

Being a beauty blogger, my skincare changes regularly as I’m always testing new products. But the  basics typically are the same.

Prep skin with a day serum

Day moisturizer

Face oil

Follow with makeup

Double cleanse with oil cleanser and second gel cleanser

At least one mask

Acid toner

Night oil or night mask

Lip treatment

Do you have a skincare/beauty hack to share?

I have very straight eyelashes. The best way to get my lashes curled and open up the eyes is to use my blow dryer on my eyelash curler for about 10 seconds then curl them. It’s like a curling iron for your lashes.

What’s your biggest complaint or gripe about the skincare industry?

I think in general I dislike the shaming about what products you choose to use. Not to mention the fear mongering you can get from a lot of brands.

Which product are you dying to try next?

The Jet Lag mask!

Describe your standard beauty routine. How does it differ from daytime to evening?

I’m typically lowkey in the daytime, and I prefer a more editorial look over “beat face”. You’ll never catch me in a full coverage foundation. I think a bright lip and a nude eye is the perfect statement for a daytime look. As for night time, I’ll focus on the eyes and really define them as I have hooded eyes, which is perfect for smoky eyes.

You’re stranded on a deserted island and can only bring 5 skincare/beauty products. What are they?

Erno Laszlo Phormula 3-9 Balm

Supergoop Sunscreen

Laneige Lip Mask

Caudalie Water Mist

Erno Laszlo Phormula 3-9 Eye Repair

Who is your #1 beauty icon?

Mary Kate Olsen forever. Even after she was mean to me at Beatrice Inn in 2008. (Legendary.)

You snoozed your alarm and only have time to brush your teeth and do one step in your skincare/beauty routine? What is it?

You better believe I’m going to run Boy Brow through my brows.

The beauty space is constantly evolving. What are your thoughts on its current status and how that impacts you as a woman? What do you wish this space would continue to improve on?

I am loving the variety we are seeing currently in the fashion world. All skin tones are being represented at the shows, and even in print. That doesn’t necessarily mean the body standards have changed. While I don’t believe in promoting obesity, I do think healthy “real” body types can be just as editorial as someone who’s a size 2.
