When were you first introduced to Erno Laszlo and how?
I was first introduced to Erno Laszlo when I visited New York City several years ago. I had a great reunion with my best friend. He told me that he had been using Erno Laszlo products for years, since he moved to NYC. After doing some research, I was totally attracted by the elegant black and white packaging. And the aroma of the products were so nice, like a natural fragrance. I started out trying The Famous Pink Mask and was surprised by the instant results. And I became a big fan of Erno Laszlo ever since!
What does Erno Laszlo mean to you?
Erno Laszlo is my knight and reliable partner. I 100% believe that Erno Laszlo will take care of my skin no matter what condition it’s in. I fell in love with Erno Laszlo’s long heritage and stories. Last year, when I had a chance to join Erno Laszlo’s marketing team in China. I felt so honored and said yes without hesitation.
So, Erno Laszlo is not only my skincare consultant, my friend, my life-long partner but also my family and my career. 2018 is a year of making myself as good as I can be, and I have decided to improve my physical and mental health and enjoy every moment of my work and my life.
Favorite Erno Laszlo product?
Definitely the Pink Mask ! Every time I apply it to my face, I can totally relax and enjoy “Me” time. When I peel off the mask off after 20 mins, my face become smoother and brighter. I just want to kiss my face!
For those who don’t know, what is the history of Chinese New Year?
The most important holiday in Chinese culture around the world is undoubtedly Chinese New Year—and it all started out of fear. The Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival as it has been called since the 20th Century, remains the most important social and economic holiday in China. Originally tied to the lunar-solar Chinese calendar, the holiday was a time to honor household and heavenly deities as well as ancestors.
The centuries-old legend on the origins of Chinese New Year celebration varies from teller to teller, but they all include a story of a terrible mythical monster who preyed on villagers. The lion-like monster’s name was Nian (年), which is also the Chinese word for ‘year’.
The stories also all include a wise old man, who counsels the villagers to ward off the evil Nian by making loud noises with drums and firecrackers and by hanging red paper cutouts and scrolls on their doors because Nian is scared of the color red. People also stay up until midnight setting off fireworks to frighten away evil spirits.
What is the significance of the colors red and gold in the Chinese New Year?
Red is for good fortune and happiness combined with gold, which is for wealth.
What are your favorite traditions to celebrate?
We adorn our home with decorations. All the rooms in my house are decorated with red envelopes, banners with messages of good luck, pairs of door couplets, and lanterns. All decorations should be on red paper or include red.
Also, we exchange red envelopes. A major part of Chinese New Year is the hong bao, one of the few names we have for red envelopes. In the red envelopes are new and crisp bills usually ranging from $2 to $100, depending on who is giving and receiving it. We exchange red envelopes with friends and relatives. These red envelopes are a major part of Chinese New Year, and are handed out throughout the two weeks. Exchanging red envelopes means giving blessings of wealth and good fortune to each other.
What are signature dishes/food that people make and eat for this holiday?
The most signature Chinese New Year foods include dumplings, fish, spring rolls, Tangyuan, good fortune fruit, niangao and longevity noodles.
Tell us about your relationship with skincare. Where did it start? How has it evolved?
I believe in natural beauty. After chasing high-technology skincare products for years, I switched to natural skincare products. I am focusing on the ingredients and the methodology of the products instead of the fancy concept. Now, I prefer a natural look and follow a less-is-more makeup routine. For me, the Laszlo glow is from the inside out.
Best beauty advice your Mom/Grandma/Aunt, etc. shared with you?
My mother told me not to burden your skin! It needs some time to breath. So, some days if I do not need go out, I will just put my toner and cream on after washing my face. No further steps. I’m grateful for that advice today.
What is your skincare/beauty guilty pleasure/confession? (We won't judge!)
I love serum. I am using the whitening serum, anti-aging serum and hydration serum at the same time. Too much?
Walk us through your typical morning and evening skincare routine. How and why does it differ on a daily basis?
In the evening, I spend more time on skincare.First, I remove my makeup with a makeup removing wipe. Next, I cleanse my skin with the White Marble Double Cleanse. I apply a mask every night, either the Pink Mask or a sheet mask. Then, I clean my face again with water. Next, I apply the Hydraphel Skin Supplement, Timeless Skin Serum and the Phelityl Night Cream . Some days, if I need further hydration, I will replace the moisturizer with the Hydra-Therapy Memory Sleep Mask as the final step.
Do you have a skincare/beauty hack to share?
Hydration, hydration, hydration! Always remember your skin cries for water. The foundation for healthy skin is to hydrate your skin well, especially after a long flight.
Describe your standard beauty routine. How does it differ from daytime to evening?
I love to be well-prepared. I am not an “out-the-door in 5 minutes” kind of girl! The reality is that my daytime routine must be very efficient. Days are long, so my daytime routine starts from a shower to wake me up.
You’re stranded on a deserted island and can only bring 5 skincare/beauty products. What are they?

Hydra-Therapy Refresh Infusion
Phelityl Night Cream
Dior Rouge 999
Who is your #1 beauty icon?
You snoozed your alarm and only have time to brush your teeth and do one step in your skincare/beauty routine? What is it?
Clean my face.
