The Glowdown: Ashli Stockton of Sunday Forever
The Glowdown: Ashli Stockton of Sunday Forever
Does anything embody the concept of self-care more than the comfort of a Sunday afternoon? We think not, much like Ashli Stockton, who founded Sunday Forever around the idea. A lifestyle brand that cultivates and creates one-of-a-kind candles, kimonos, and much more. Sunday Forever's Ashli bottled that feeling and built her own dream world in the process. We had to know more about what inspires her work and how she cultivates her own Sunday Forever feeling!
Tell us about your creative process. What is a day in your shoes like?
To really get in my groove I need to spend time alone and let my mind wander. Running a business can be super hectic so those “alone” moments have become fewer and far between but I make a point to set that time aside.
What does emotionally identifying with the products you use, mean for you?
Trust and intent mean everything to me both as a consumer and founder. Anything after that is a cherry on top. For example, I love beautiful packaging, but if the product inside isn’t quality or effective, there’s no point.
What are some of your favorite scents?
Coffee brewing, my pups (they smell like fresh-baked brownies) and coconut everything.
Do you come up with scent ideas? What inspires you?
I do come up with the scent ideas. I make things that I want and can’t find… also, nostalgia and memories inspire me. Our Puff candle was inspired by the scent of taking a Cabbage Patch doll or My Little Pony right out of the package. I remembered that scent from childhood and set out to recreate it.
Walk us through your typical weekday skincare routine.
My morning routine is pretty simple because I feel like I went to bed the night before with so much good product on my face – sometimes I’ll even skip using a cleanser in the morning and just wipe down with a warm cloth, spritz some rose water, pat in some Hydraphel and finish with Firmarine Moisturizer because it’s got SPF 30. Also if I’m puffy, I’ll give myself a good facial massage.
What’s your go-to Erno Laszlo product and why?
The Pore Cleansing Clay Mask is super special. It’s the only clay mask I’ve ever tried that isn’t over-tightening or drying but works and leaves my skin glowing and happy when I rinse it off.
What is your number one skincare goal?
To have happy skin. I can be sensitive, so to have balanced and healthy skin is everything.
Do you have a skincare hack or “secret” you’re willing to share?
I love sharing secrets! Definitely facial massage and lymphatic drainage. If you’re not familiar with how to do it there are tons of articles and YouTube tutorials. I feel that it makes all the difference, especially if you had a little too much wine the night before.
Who is your #1 beauty icon?
What’s one thing that you love about yourself and why?
I love that I don’t give up and have the ability to figure out almost anything I set my mind to because those tools have gotten me where I am today.
What’s your number one go-to accessory?
A hat or scrunchie right now.
How do you take time for yourself?
At least once a month I take time to give my skin a full treatment, in a kimono with a nice glass of wine.
How did your relationship with self-care begin and how has it changed over time?
When I got very burnt out at the job I had before starting Sunday Forever. The Sunday blues would hit hard and I started to use self-care rituals to soothe myself.
What’s your favorite self-care trend?
Anything that makes you feel calm, centered, and happy.
Tell us about your perfect day. It could be a memory of a real one or a fantasy for a future one!
It’s about 7-10 years from now, I’m at our second house in upstate New York running my baby animal farm and working on new ideas for Sunday Forever from there.

This is like asking me to pick my favorite (dog) child… it depends on mood and time of day. When I wake up I like to listen to something motivating and business-related so The Gary V Experience or Entreprenista. If I want something light and funny, Ladygang and Fat Mascara because I’m beauty obsessed.
One book everyone should read?
The Art of Living by Epictetus. I’ve given dozens of copies of this book away. It’s a short philosophical life manual that you can go back to again and again.
