Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wish is that I knew about Erno Laszlo 20 years ago After years of trying every (EVERY) product at the pharmacy, department stores, dermatologist, I tried this facial bar in April 2016. I haven't bought another product/brand since. I noticed a dramatic difference in my skin within a week. I use the Phelityl Pre-Cleansing Oil first, which just works for my skin. Do not be intimidated by the video showing the routine- its not hard or time consuming. And its not expensive- buying new products every few weeks is expensive! I looks years younger, my skin is brighter, and my only wish is that I knew about Erno Laszlo 20 years ago. I recommend it to everyone who asks about my improved complexion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not The Classic Sea Mud Soap I have been using Erno Laszlo since the early 1970's! At that time you had to have a membership card to even qualify to purchase the products. Through the years all the formulas have changed until you cannot recognize the products. This soap, and many of the other products are a pale reflection of the "old" ones and I am terribly sad about it. Where are all the wonderful skin improving ingredients? This is just soap with charcoal! Even the wonderful classic scent is gone. Would I recommend that someone pay $$$ for this? NO! The old classic formulas were worth every penny. When I wash with this soap my sink and face are covered in black film. The old soap NEVER did that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sea Mud Soap I started using this in my early twenties. For some unknown reason around 55 I stopped using it. It was hard to find at the department store. With moving around the country there wasn't always an upscale department store that carried Erno Laszlo. Then thanks to the internet I found it again. Yes...it is a wonderful product. This is one cleaning routine that your skin is always ready for. I love the detox oil too. I think it is new. I'm not an upscale beauty shopper. In fact I hate to go shopping unless it's to the art store or a hardware store. I wear little to no makeup...I think this has helped my skin age not so horribly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from so sad i began using laszlo in the 70's. i started with an introductory of products for my 12:00 skin type. yes, the associate determined your appropriate o'clock thru questions and observation. the cleansing routine was different from others - who can forget the splashes. my skin responded in a way that was beyond my expectations. I have returned to Laszlo in recent years and am not thrilled with the changes. the soaps are smaller and a different shape - the previous shape was perfect for the routine. there have been so many changes.bi believe dr. Laszlo is turning in his grave over what has been done to his product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Cleanser Ever I have been using this soap since 1987 and there is no other cleanser--soap or otherwise--that can match it. The look, the smell, the feel of it in your hand, the way it exfoliates and cleanses 100% of everything off of your face & out of your pores--makeup, oil, grime-- without drying. Yet it somehow also manages to reduce breakouts and clogged pores. I use it once/day and the bar lasts me about 1 year! How can you beat the price with all that it offers and how long it lasts? Even though my skin is a little less oily than it was, and breaks out a little less than it did, 25 years ago, this soap still works just as effectively for me. The best, period.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Formula I had admittedly been away from the Laszlo ritual for a bit, and decided to return, starting with the cleansing products. I opened my first shipment of Sea Mud soap expecting that familiar fragrance and it's changed completely. Is this a new formula or just a fragrance change? Please go back to the old fragrance if possible, this new one is unpleasant. My star ratings are based on the previous experiences I had with sea mud soap. I am hoping that the formula has remained the same, it has been iconic for so many decades I honestly never expected a change in the Sea Mud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Soap! I began using Erno Laszlo products when I was 13. I followed their skin care routine to the letter but with life changes, I switched to another regime and am now returning to Laszlo. The Sea Mud soaps was the main stay of my routine and returning to it has been wonderful. I love this soap. My skin feels so clean and fresh. I still clean and then fill my sink with as warm of water as my hands can stand, then rinse 30 times. At the end, my skin feels refreshed, tightened, and looks great. You get what you put into your skin care routine and with Laszlo it is worth every bit and more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must-have My first time purchasing this soap after falling in love with other EL products and I can definitely say it's going to be a staple. It does everything it states and more. I have normal/combination skin that's also prone to dryness so I hesitated on this for a while but am SO glad I purchased. It doesn't dry out your skin. Instead it provides a most thorough cleansing, plus exfoliation, even moisture, and it's the only soap that I can actually say has made a difference in pore size. I came back for more products including the matching cleansing oil after this and also love their hydrogel masks. So luxurious. Highly recommend!

What daytime  moisturizer to you recommend for someone in their early 70’s that has all the problems you might expect for this age group⁉️

Asked by: Grey 10
I would recommend looking at the Firmarine Moisturizer SPF 30 for day, it will help hydrate and tighten skin. If you have deeper fine lines, you may also want to look at the Transphuse Line Refining Cream, which helps to calm and hydrate, while restoring elasticity.

Do you think this product would benefit a man if used by itself? My husband has problems with his skin and it’s very oily. I just can’t see him using the cleansing oil or anything else besides soap.

Asked by: Sweet Pea
Yes, I think it really benefits oily skin. My skin was so oily it looked wet and it really helped.

I currently use the Oil Control bar and I love it. I can’t see it available anymore, is this being replaced with the Sea Mud bar?

Asked by: MNizz
I have oily skin and have so for all my life. Someone that I knew in the late 70's introduced me to Erno Lazlo and I have used the their product since then and found the sea mud soap important to my daily life. O shave with the sea mud soap lather and have no ikon conditions as a result. I am a firm believer in the Lazlo product line and as I grew older I have appreciated their value!!!! Sea Mud Soap might be your answer. RN

hi, can i leave the facial wash as a mask for 10minutes?

Asked by: erica
The sea mud deep cleansing bar if used as directed with the Laszlo technique will leave your skin feeling clean and refreshed.  Then follow with your toner.  I have also used the detoxifying mask which is wonderful but I find that if you cleanse twice a day you don’t need it.  Been a customer almost 32 years, stick with the regime.

Whatever happened to the '40 splashes of water' in the cleansing ritual? I have just begun using Erno Lazlo products again after many years away.

Asked by: Willis
If you like doing the classic 40 splashes and are seeing positive skin results you can continue doing that. The main importance is to ensure you rinse off all of the cleanser.

Is this soap good for sensitive skin?

Asked by: Caligirl
It is good for sensitive/acne prone skin. Depending on your needs, we recommend pairing it with either the Detoxifying Cleansing Oil or the Sensitive Cleansing Oil (or even using one for day and the other at night).

Is there a larger bar?? WHY did they change from the regular larger bar? Have they ever changed the formula? If so, how often do they change the formula?

Asked by: LAS-ALF
Yes .. I’ve wondered why they changed. I have been using Erno since I was 17 years old. I’m 48 now. I often get told my face is so youthful looking or ageless. Maybe some of that is hereditary but I believe Erno Laszlo has had a big part in helping my skin feel amazing. Back to the question .. my bar used to be bigger... I will always use Erno..

Are the 30 splashes of water still part of the "cleansing ritual" or even still recommended in order to see the full results from the products? The product line & ritual has been pared down quite a bit from 20 yrs ago when I first used it. Why the chang

Asked by: skincare junkie
I have been a Laszlo, user since 1978.  I still splash my face 30 times with the sea mud soap.  I also noticed that the size of the bar has been pared downquite a bit.
