Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never thought it would work I have had "troubled" skin since early childhood, at times, very severe with cystic acne. I expect the oils in my face are actually too dry and cannot release normally, and food sensitivities definitely make it worse. Toners have never seemed to do much except remove a little more oil. This one has made my pores less visible and vanished the blackheads--a minor miracle in my book. I use the pre-cleansing oil as well. The soaps, thus far, have not been as good as the one I already use. I also like the Transphuse eye cream. My eye wrinkles appear when I smile (beyond normal crow's feet, which would be fine) and the cream may be helping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Toner Hero!! I love this toner. I like the simple, but effective ingredients. It makes my skin brighter and works to make pores smaller. I think that alcohol gets bad press. It has cleaning properties. It just does. My skin seems to handle it quite well. Let me not forget another thing that I love about this toner. It smells great and so familiar. I forgot about the Lazlo line for a while. I started it again because I love the ritual and my daughter has been having skin problems. I had her stop all the nonsense that she was using and started her on Lazlo. I wish I had helped her sooner and Light Controlling Lotion is vital to that effort. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old School I've been a Laszlo fanatic since 1984 and am so thankful the company has at least kept the Sea Mud Soap and the toner! I really miss the rest of the regime with the two different Shake-Its and the really good Oil Controlling Powder that you could actually FEEL working throughout the day when you pressed it into your oily areas! Best stuff on the market, and I've been preaching about it for three decades! Sure, it takes a true commitment, but the end results are SO worth it! Tried everything that comes out, and I always end up back to the Laszlo basics... Got my daughter hooked, too, and she started when she was young - I just made it available to her, taught her the regime, and let her make up her own mind. When I go visit, we're at adjoining sinks with the Sea Mud - LOL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ahhhh I can start my day now..... I have used Erno Laszlo Light Controlling Lotion for many many years. If I get nothing else done to my face, I get it washed with sea mud soap, and apply the Light Controlling Lotion, and then as I run out apply the Antioxidant Moisture Complex SPF 15 and I am set for the day. It is rare I miss this ritual, but when I do, my day is just not the same! I have tried a few other toners through the years. Most of them have made my skin scaly. The ELLCL tones without any type of reaction at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful stuff! I've been using Erno Laszlo since 1974. First, I used Conditioning Prep, for oily skin, and I've been using Light Controlling Lotion for at least thirty years. It is a most effective toner. I'm sorry that some beloved products are no longer offered, such as the Regular Normalizer Shake-its, and I'm sorry that the products are no longer sold locally, but, I am loyal to the brand and continue to purchase many of the products

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best toner, easy to tolerate, great results! I used to not be able to use an acid toner because they were all too harsh for my skin. Erno Laszlo's Light Controlling Lotion turned my world around. It's the first acid toner my skin has been able to tolerate in years. I love how it shrinks my pores, picks up any last residue my double cleanse left behind and leaves my skin soft and balanced, ready for my next serum application. The tiny red breakouts I used to experience so annoyingly have also ended. I've seen the light and it's Erno Laszlo's Light Controlling Lotion...the value size, of course!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toner to the Stars Every time I walk through the skin care department at Saks or Neiman Marcus and they have a new skin care line they always try to get me to give up on Erno. They tell me i should never use a toner with \"alcohol.\" The first thing i ask them is how old they think i am, every time they guess 10 years and more under my real age. Then i just laugh and tell them i am sticking with the tried and true Dr. Laszlo! Can\'t live without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The holy grail of toners First off: I'm new to EL. My skin is still adjusting. That said, I love this toner. I was surprised since it has a high alcohol content and is pretty fragrant but I think I have found a holy grail toner. I only realized how well the sea mud soap was doing in cleaning when my cotton round (after using this toner) still looked clean. Appears to help with acne and balancing out the face. Marked a star off for value simply because I find I go through it quicker than the other products.

How *tall* is this bottle? Silly question I know, but want to make sure the value size will fit in my medicine cabinet!

I am trying to figure out which Erno Laszlo toner is best for my skin.  I have only tried the Sensitive, Black Mud, and White Marble dual cleansing systems and love them all.  I currently use SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, which works really well, too.

Asked by: knw17
I have sensitive skin and a lot of redness. I like the light controlling lotion for two reasons, it visibly removes excess cleansing products and it doesn't dry my skin. My skin feels cleaner and healthier without tightening.

Light Controlling Lotion

I recently began my Erno Laszlo Ritual. Why am I experiencing breakouts?
Asked by: Jane D.
When I first started using Erno Lazlo, 40 years ago, I experienced breakouts at first. This is due to the product flushing out all toxins and bacteria on a deep level. The breakouts subsided after a couple of weeks. My skin has continued to be beautiful ever since.

Light Controlling Lotion

I think I have combination skin, but I am not sure. I have quite frequent blackheads and/or spots, even on my cheeks, and my T-zone tends to get oily during the day, yet sometimes, with certain products I've used in the past, my skin can also get really dry and flaky, mostly in those parts that are normally greasy. I have heard to have dry skin, yet I do have spots, blackheads and spots! I am 23 years old. Which products would you recommend?
Asked by: Sarah
Hi Sarah, From the description of your skin it seems like you would be a Normal/Combination Skin type (12:00). It is recommended that you go on www.ernolaszlo.com and take the Personality Skin Diagnosis Test to see what skin type you are. If it does recommend the Normal/Combination Cleansing Ritual here is the am & pm cleansing ritual products to use. Light Controlling Lotion

Hello! I've heard that the toner must not content alcohol because it dries the skin too much and then there is more sebum produced. I have this product (and checked that has alcohol in it) and I wonder if the alcohol in it has a negative effect on my skin and if I may choose another toner with less alcohol. Thank you!

Toners just seem like an extra step. Are they really necessary?
Asked by: Nicky D.
Toners are definitely beneficial, especially as part of a full skin care ritual. Toners remove any residue leftover from soaps or cleansers and balance the skin's pH, prepping it for the next step in the ritual: moisturizing.
